Mighty Wilds

Mighty Wilds is our 3 day home education and outdoor learning group for 4 - 8 year olds.

Divided into two stage groups (rather than age groups), Mini Mighties and Mega Mighties, Mighty Wilds is headed up by experienced Primary and Alternative Education leader Robyn Brock. Robyn is also joined by Teaching Assistant, Poppy, who is also a professional gardener. Alternative education leader Kristina also leads permaculture gardening, music, foraging, cooking and storytelling projects during the term. In 2024, we also launched our Parent Teacher Skill Share programme where some of our very talented, creative and skilled parents come in to teach the children their craft for a term. So far, we have had Will Whitmore who is sculptor and clay artist, and Lily Waugh who is a weaver and bee keeper. This term, Daniel Hernandez of Divine Ridiculous is teaching the children how to make theatrical woodland creature masks from a variety of mediums including papier-mâché and clay.

Mighty Wilds is set in a bright and spacious teaching space and has access to the beautiful Tiny Wilds nature garden.

Mighty Wilds is open Tues, Wed and Thurs 9:30 - 3:30pm during term time only. Children must attend all 3 days.

With access to the extraordinary wild water meadows, ancient woodland, streams and river, as well as the circle barn and craft loft at Beden, Sampford Spiney, the children flourish in a wild and free environment. As well as a myriad of creative projects, we will also be covering part of the early years and key stage 1 learning, be it in a creative, nature and play based way.

Although Mighty Wilds isn’t open on a Monday, many of the children attend the Guide Me Wilds groups.
