Parent Involvement
The Heart of Tiny Wilds: Our Parent Community
Tiny Wilds parents are an integral part of our setting. They have helped shape and design the foundations of the school and have nurtured it and helped it to grow in so many wonderful ways.
From offering lift shares and providing informal care, to organising music lessons and meal trains for new parents, the care and warmth within our parent community make everything we strive for even more meaningful. But their involvement doesn’t stop there.
There are many initiatives, projects and developments under way, and all of these wouldn’t be possible without the parents support and time. Not only do they willingly offer this, they are often the creators and designers of these ideas. The talent and skill sets of our parents stretch far and wide across many different disciplines and industries, from art and education, to healthcare and technology.
From building playgrounds and maintaining vegetable gardens to leading creative workshops on mask-making and weaving, parent involvement is the lifeblood of Tiny Wilds. Their generosity of time, ideas, and energy is what makes our community so unique. And the best part? We're just getting started!

Parents Vision Statement
In late 2024, all the parents sat down together in the Tiny Wilds garden and began to create a vision of what they wanted Tiny Wilds to be. Here is what they came up with….
At our school, we are dedicated to nurturing the whole child, fostering emotional, intellectual, and physical growth in an environment that values curiosity, creativity, and connection to nature. We believe in protecting childhood, empowering children with self-belief, and supporting their individual passions and instincts through play, exploration, and hands-on learning.
Our approach is rooted in holistic education, where every child is seen as a unique individual, respected for their ideas, emotions, and natural gifts. We embrace a child-led, project-based learning model that prioritizes wellbeing, offering a safe and secure space for children to express themselves freely, build confidence, and develop skills for life.
Through rhythmic practices like yoga and breathing, adventurous outdoor activities, and creative pursuits like storytelling, art, and cooking, we encourage children to connect with the world around them—physically, emotionally, and socially. We honor their wild spirits and cultivate a sense of awe and wonder, while also preparing them for a changing world with practical, applicable skills in teamwork, problem-solving, and resilience.
We embrace a democratic, non-coercive approach to learning, where children are trusted to co-create their education, guided by compassionate and research-led teachers. In this space, children develop a deep love for learning, a strong sense of belonging, and the confidence to dream big and make those dreams come true. Through our commitment to nature, intergenerational connections, and community, we strive to create an educational experience that is soulful, expansive, and transformative for every child.
